Dear Ask America Supporters,

     With Congress approaching their summer recess, and another school year winding to a close, Richard feels that everybody could use a gentle reminder...... well, actually a great big jolt of a reminder.... that we and FIT Kids are still here!

     In that spirit, RICHARD has accepted an invitation from New York City Councilman TONY AVELLA to co-host a "Press Conference/FIT Kids PEP RALLY" on the Great Steps of CITY HALL, New York, New York this coming June 19th.  That day, Councilman Avella will be introducing a city resolution urging the U.S. Congress to pass the Federal FIT Kids Act.

     Our Washington sponsors tell us that this type of recognition provides great awareness and support for the bill.

     All that said.... the BEST part is....you're all invited!!!!!!  If you happen to live in the greater New York/New Jersey area, Richard would be honored to have you join him at the RALLY. If not, we know you'll be there in spirit.

     In addition to Councilman Avella and Richard, there will be several other dignitaries and loads of NATIONAL press coverage.  Pre-press includes our ever loyal TODAY SHOW (6/18), Neil Cavuto/FOX (6/18) and CNN American Morning (6/19).

     DR. OZ and Michelle from HealthCorps are helping us by inviting local student health counselors and PE teachers.  We hope that they can both stop by as well!

     Richard recently had the extreme pleasure of appearing on OPRAH and Friends to discuss our PE Crusade with Dr. Oz during National PE Week.  When we have an air date, we will give you more information.

    Dr. Oz believes that as Congress begins to address Health Care reform, our FIT Kids Bill is a natural fit for discussion as well.  Hopeful news!

    Your official NYC RALLY INVITE is just below...AND..if you are affiliated with a local school, RICHARD would love for you to make a sign or banner with your school name on it, so he can give you a proper shout out!

     And speaking of shout outs, a great big round of applause goes out to Joliet, Illinois School District 86.  Because the community recognized a need (approx. 50% overweight/obese student population) and joined together with the school district to make a real commitment to the citizens...for the first time in 30 years...certified PE Teachers, rather than classroom teachers, are teaching fitness based PE in all 8 schools.  BRAVO Joliet!

     Finally....we are looking for a "few good NYC local men, women, or children....."!  If you are a PE teacher and have (or have a student that you are especially proud of with) a great "Pro PE" story, we want to talk to you about possibly saying a few words with Richard at the NEW YORK RALLY.
