Write to WASHINGTON on behalf of FIT KIDS |
AMERICA! YOU HAVE DONE IT! The FIT KIDS BILL has been officially introduced in the 111th Congress, and YOU made sure that happened.
THE POWER OF YOUR COMBINED VOICES sent RICHARD and THE FIT KIDS BILL all the way to a Full House Education and Labor Committee Hearing in July of 2008.
Your continued support has successfully moved the bill forward toward DEBATE and potential VOTE in both the HOUSE and SENATE this session. JOB WELL DONE AMERICA.
The "new" Fit Kids Bill is now identical in both Congressional chambers, however, each version has a new identification number as well. Congressional Freshmen have never seen our bill, and the very busy of late, returning members may need a friendly reminder too. Therefore, RICHARD is humbly and with utmost gratitude, asking you to once again join him in a mass letter writing campaign to the 111th CONGRESS and the new ADMINISTRATION in support of FIT KIDS.
Your letters are powerful, effective, and THEY DO WORK. They are especially crucial in this final push.
Please: Copy, Paste and E-mail, Snail Mail, or Call In, the following URGENT MESSAGE (please feel free to add your own comments) Thank you so very, very much:
Dear _______,
On behalf of our nation's children, parents, teachers, and future generations, I am joining with Richard Simmons in respectfully asking that you help ensure that quality physical education is available for every American child. Specifically, I ask that you help include the FIT Kids Act (H.R. 1585 / S. 634) in the reauthorization of No Child Left Behind.
Every child deserves to be fit, healthy, and ready to learn, especially in these difficult times. Please join the bipartisan coalition that is supporting this extremely important legislation in the 111th Congress.
The present generation of children may not live as long as their parents due to obesity and inactivity. You have the power to prevent and change this.
Sincerely,
(your name/address)
